Talk:Gabriel's Message

Latest comment: 11 years ago by ColonelHenry in topic The article's name

Is it too trivial to include the following here?

edit

Gabriel's message contains one of the most widely known Mondegreens in the canon of Christmas carols. The substitution of "Most highly flavoured gravy...pour it here" (for "most highly favoured lady, gloria") was made famous in an advertising campaign. (If memory serves, it was for Oxo, in the mid 1990s) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.187.40.226 (talkcontribs) 08:53, November 17, 2007 (UTC)

The article's name

edit

Not that is really matters to me either way, but I've never seen the song listed as "Gabriel's Message" on concert programs--especially for Lessons and Carols Services before Christmas. I have always seen it listed as "The Angel Gabriel" or "The Angel Gabriel from Heaven came". Not being familiar with Basque or its translation, is there any prevailing reason why the current title is being used? --ColonelHenry (talk) 22:38, 25 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
