Name and Etymology
editCould Celtic gae be cognate, with Germanic ger, both meaning "spear" ? 24.143.92.97 (talk) 04:51, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
Wouldn't "armed with javelins" and "spearmen" be two different meanings? A javelin can be used as a spear and a spear can be used as a javelin, but the implied roles are so different, I think the given translation's like saying "Armed with tomahawks, Halberdiers." 96.231.17.131 (talk) 22:10, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
Numbers
editGenerally roman sources are not reliable when it comes to numbers of warriors of celts. Perhaps the quotation should be removed, is there any archaeological evidence that supports it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.59.62.86 (talk) 21:15, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
