This one still needs a lot of work. Looks like it was written mainly by non English speaker(s). AdventurousSquirrel (talk) 23:57, 29 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've edited the language quite a bit. However, I know nothing of the subject so if I inadvertently introduced inaccuracies in my attempts to make sentences clearer I apologise, and feel free to revert. Also, the two "notable people" sections should perhaps be merged, or at least renamed. NardusM (talk) 18:29, 15 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

A lot is wrong here: 1.) The family Gaffron wasn't very important in Silesia - so it's really not necessary to make an own article only for one branch (Oberstradam) - so it should be 'Gaffron' not 'von Gaffron und Oberstradam'

2.) "knight Janco von Gaffron und Oberstradam, who was invested as feudal lord of Oberstradam Castle by the Duke of Silesia on July 17, 1329" Nonsense! It's: On December 13, 1329, Janco von Gafron was a witness of a document concerning a gift to a cloister (Document of duke Boleslaus III. von Liegnitz (Bolesław III the Generous))

3.) Source for 2.) = State archive of Wroclaw, Cod.dipl. Siles. XXII, No. 4848, pp. 327–33 Nonsense! It's: Grünhagen, Colmar, & Konrad Wutke, Codex Diplomaticus Silesiae, Band 22: Regesten zur schlesischen Geschichte 1327-1333, Breslau 1903, S. 83, Urkundenummer 4898.

4.) Polish confirmation of the baronial crown to the family coat of arms was obtained for all members on October 15, 1845.[3] Nonsense! Who could give a Polish (!) confirmation to a Prussian title of Baron in 1845.

5.) Source for 4.) = Confirmed by title references in Wykazy Polskich Rodzin Szlacheckich and Polish Encyclopedia Szlachecka Nonsense! It's : Starykoń-Kasprzycki, Stefan J., Polska encyklopedja szlachecka, Warschau 1935-1938 in 12 volumes, and V:245 gives only: Gaffron ....Barons Prussia 1840 Gaffron Arms....

6.) Knight Janco von Gaffron became Feudal Lord of Oberstradam in July 17, 1329. [4] Nonsense - see above

7.) Knight Zawissius the Gaffron, Duke Bolek II of Opolski (Poland), Chancellor/Prime Minister 1349–1393 Good joke! Bolko II of Opole died in 1356 when Mr. Zawissius the Gaffron was 7 years old - and he was his chancellor....

8.) References Most without any details - nonsense!

9.) Links I can't see any relation to the Gaffron-family to any of the given links Gaffron123 (talk) 17:59, 6 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
