editI attended my first Opera at the Gaiety in 1945.[La Boheme] I had to Queue up outside a side door, pay my sixpence to be admitted and then worked my way up to the Gods. [To-day July 18 2005 I learned that they pulled down the "old " Gods in the late Fifties.] I was studying Music at the time but I learnt more about the appreciation of Opera from fellow Queuers. They didn't have much money but could always find a 'tanner' to pay for their admission to The Gods.

Time problem
editI have the impression that one of two sentences either needs clarification or correction: "the Gaiety was opened on 27 November 1871 [..] and has hosted a pantomime every year - without interruption - since the mid 1850's". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 145.116.233.153 (talk) 08:37, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
