Merge with disc galaxy

The result of the proposal was

• OPPOSE, because disc (galaxy) is an article about a component of a galaxy, like bulge, arm, halo, whereas disc galaxy talks about a type of galaxy, where a galactic disc is a standard component of (also bulge, but not arm, since arms are only found in the disc galaxy subtype known as spirals). 132.205.44.134 23:13, 29 July 2005 (UTC)

Changing title and adding content

Hi, Everyone.

I'm an Astrophysics graduate student at UC Irvine and I've been working on a project that includes improving this page. I agree with what someone said in an earlier talk section that the title should be moved from 'Disc (galaxy)' to 'Galactic Disc.' This will make it less likely for readers to confuse this page with the actual Disc Galaxy page. I'll go ahead and make that move and also begin publishing my edits/additions to this page piece by piece. Cheers! --Fjmercado1 (talk) 18:13, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

Requested move 1 November 2018

Galactic Disc → Galactic disc – There is no reason that "disc" should be capitalised in the title of this article. However, I can't seem to move the page - an error is thrown whenever I try to move it to "Galactic disc". I believe this is simply due to the system being incapable of seeing differences between capital and non-capital letters. Thus, it detects that "Galactic Disc" already exists and doesn't allow the creation of another page that has the "same" title. Would love if an admin could help sort this out. Was thinking I could maybe give the page another temporary title then instantly move it to "Galactic disc" but I'd like to get an admin's opinion on things. Speedy-moved as uncontroversial. You could not have moved it yourself because the target redirect had non-trivial history, see WP:MOR. No such user (talk) 08:25, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
