Colonel Tigh?
editAre you sure Colonel Tigh (Terry Carter) does not appear in this series? I strongly remember seeing him in at least the first couple of episodes. 23skidoo 14:15, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
- You might have seen him in some flashback footage, but he wasn't there. The make up department put some grey in Boomer's hair, and tried to make him look as much like Colonel Tigh as possible. CantStandYa 14:55, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
Unscreened footage of Starbuck?
editCan someone support the claim that the Return of Starbuck episode used "unscreened footage" from the original series? That doesn't jive with anything I've heard about Galactica 1980, that Benedict returned to the role in a last ditch effort to save the series. Can someone provide a link to support this? 24.71.223.140 03:11, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
- I heard this in a Dirk Benedict radio interview on "The Russ Martin Show", afternoons Dallas (3pm - 7pm), frequency 105.3. This interview aired circa summer of 2004, I recall. CantStandYa 14:55, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
- I've just watched the "Return of Starbuck" episode, and discoverd that Dr.Zee (Adama's advisor ,a Boy-Professor),is Starbuck's son. Mightberight/wrong 20:22, 7 November 2005. Starbuck's son? Did he impregnate Angela? I thought she was already pregnant when she appeared on Planet Starbuck.
- Adopted son, actually, godson.Wzrd1 (talk) 03:13, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
Different opening title
editI once saw a Galactica '80 marathon on the Sci-Fi Channel, but the title said "Battlestar Galactica" rather than "Galactica 1980". Why is this so? Sgt. Bond 20:43, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
Answer: A syndication package, put together in 1982, lumped the original series and "Galactica 1980" together and called them all collectively "Battlestar Galactica". These syndication prints, and copies of them made since, still show the title "Battlestar Galactica" at the start of the "Galactica 1980" episodes. Mokwella 04:25, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- This is also the case with the DVD release. The first episode has the Galactica 1980 title card while subsequent episodes have Battlestar Galactica title cards (assuming this was not the case with the original aired run in 1980 of course). --RedKnight (talk) 16:45, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Weird vanadalism fixed
editEpisode 6 lists "(guest-starring Patrick Stewart"); I can't find evidence of this in IMDB's listing for Patrick Stewart, or in the Battlestar Galactica wiki entry for the episiode, so I've removed it. UniqueCrash5 20:28, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- This is not the same Patrick Stewart of Star Trek fame. It's the actor Patrick Stuart who played Dr. Zee in the episode. It was not vandalism. 68.146.41.17 14:31, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- It's PATRICK STUART ... not Patrick Stewart. HammerFilmFan (talk) 22:19, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
Commandant Baltar?
editRe: "[Baltar]...is now Commandant Baltar of the Cylon fleet pursuing the Galactican" Really? It's been a long time since I watched Galactica 1980, but I don't remember Baltar making any appearance in the series or even being metioned. Can somebody verify this "Commandant Baltar" stuff, otherwise I'm going to remove it. Chilly Penguin (talk) 10:49, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Baltar is seen in stock footage in at least one episode, sitting on his command perch in his Cylon baseship. He is seen but not heard. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.194.75.4 (talk) 16:53, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Citation Needed?
editI noticed that a "citation needed" flag has been put up next to where it says the term G80 came from the UK. If you contact anyone on the "Classic" or "Galactica 1980" pages at battlestargalacticaforum.com, they'll be able to confirm this is true. Heck, they'll probably give you the name of the guy who first abbreviated it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.40.125.161 (talk) 20:25, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Extra detail
editI would like to add information about production that was removed from List of television shows considered the worst in this diff from 9 Feb 2018, but I am not sure how to fit it into the article. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 23:50, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
Categories
editI do not think this should be in Category:Television series set in 1980. Such categories are usually only for series made later, but set in the past or for series made earlier, but set in a then future year. Dunarc (talk) 23:00, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
- This would also apply to its inclusion in Category:Television series set in the 1980s. I know Galactica 1980 was a Science Fiction series, but its main setting was 1980, the year it was broadcast. Dunarc (talk) 20:35, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
