Remove page?
editGiven the Pietrukowicz et al. result that this galaxy does not exist -- shouldn't this Wikipedia page be removed? It looks like Chakrabarti et al. jumped the gun by claiming to see something. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.88.116.178 (talk) 18:51, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
- Vulcan (hypothetical planet) exists as an article, even though it has been proven to not exist when Einstein developed Relativity. The existence of the galaxy has nothing to do with the existence of an article. This is the same for many other topics on Wikipedia, where some project or other never developed, but we still have articles on the topics. You are making the mistake of true physical existence as the measure of an article's existence, which isn't the measure used to determine whether an article exists or not. -- 65.94.171.217 (talk) 10:57, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Speedy close - Proposer was indefinitely blocked for disruption. (non-admin closure) ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 20:59, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
– I accidentally move the page by cut and paste Alpha200807 (talk) 11:55, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose for now. The rationale is nonsense. The "cut and paste move" was a reverted attempt to change Galaxy X from a disambiguation page to a redirect. Without evidence to support a claim of primary topic, there is no reason for the proposed move. older ≠ wiser 12:33, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
