editAlthough others are too, the Cissoid of Diocles image is so faint that I can't see it without clicking on it. Perhaps a bolder version should be made. Also, maybe a general equation beneath each image would add to the article. Asmeurer (talk ♬ contribs) 01:05, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Request from a physics Wikipedia editor
editWikipedia never explains the concept of closed and open curves at the beginner's level. (I originally posted a request for figures and then found these:

closed and open curves

Open surfaces have closed curves as boundaries; closed surfaces have no boundary.
