Why I did it
editI've started this article, because it is important for Board Games and Card Games. The people that invent original new games are seldom refered to as inventor, but Games inventor. I feel the list of game inventors should only include those that have created original games, for example Elizabeth Magie was a true Games inventor, when she created The Landlord's Game, while Charles Darrow only created his game Monopoly, from hers. Do you see my point? If Elizabeth Magie had not created her game, Charles Darrow would not have been able to create his. His success came from luck and marketing. --TheWikiCorrector (talk) 14:35, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- I see your point, but I don't think your going to be able to achieve your personal agenda on Wikipedia. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 18:39, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Merge
editThere is nothing in this article that requires it to be separate from game designer. The editor above feels that there's a big difference from a game designer and "game inventor". I disagree: they both design games. It's nothing more than a semantic difference, one which can easily be addressed in the game designer article. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 18:39, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. Whichever way you look at it, a games inventor is just a synonym for a game designer, both are creating the rules and/or content of a game. At most the game designer page, which is the established page here, should mention the alternative term. I'm going to proceed with the merge. Playclever (talk) 03:00, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
