editThere are two Gareth Thomas MPs - and an actor: redirects all round?

Nothing on his constituancy page is past 2004. Surely he must have done something other thatn being on the merry go round of government posts in the last 5 years- perhaps we will get to know again before his seeking re-election. He is my MP so I am interested - or maybe I should just go and ask him! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Churchwithnoname-101 (talk • contribs) 18:33, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Nearly Lost his Seat?
editI'd dispute that he nearly lost his seat to Hannah David in 2015, and she did not "buck the trend", as the Conservative vote was up nationally. Given the boundry changes, and the changed demographic in Harrow West in the last ten years, Hannah David did well to reduce his majority from ~3000 to ~2000, but to say he "nearly lost" or that Hannah David "bucked the trend" is over-egging it a bit.
Expenses
editGareth Thomas famously (locally) got caught out in the expenses scandal. He didn't do anything illegal, but some local residents regard claiming for a second home in Hammersmith (on the basis that Harrow West is 11 miles out from Westminster and thus "too far") as immoral. Google this for plenty of local newspaper coverage. Whilst he may wish to erase this from history, and has taken to publishing expenses on his web site now (and may wish to plead youth and inexperience), it's relevent to his standing locally.

Was he ever a teacher?
editIt states in the introduction that Gareth Thomas was a teacher, at least between 1996 and his election in 1997. He was definitely as student teacher (and head of the Student Union), but was he ever employed as a teacher, however briefly, before becoming an MP? If so where (in other words, citation needed!) I have tried asking the guy in person ("Where did you teach?", but go the brush off - but he may have been preoccupied).
