I'd just like to mention that most fishes and animals are listen under their English name and not their Latin.

There are often differences in the common name of species around the globe but we used to go fishing for "Garfish" in southern Victoria, Australia - so the range of the Garfish is either much more widespread than indicated or we have a slightly different species with the same common name. The picture certainly looks like the fish I remember although I don't remember it having green bones.

We'd fish for them using nets and lights on a moonless night. The fish would come towards the light and we'd scoop them up with the nets!
