11th generation pupil of Euler
editI was unable to trace the lineage of teacher/students past Lindemann (starting with Euler, not Flandro). Bwe1862 (talk) 17:51, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Take a look at the Mathematics Genealogy Project. In fact, Flandro's lineage goes back past Euler to two Bernoulli's and beyond. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aliotra (talk • contribs) 19:35, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
I met this guy, over the summer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.113.89.54 (talk) 15:56, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- He was on my thesis committee so guess I'm a 12th generation pupil of Euler....it was a wild defense as Flandro and my advisor spent most of the proceedings debating amongst themselves. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.158.48.162 (talk) 12:47, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
Gas Giants?
editThe section titled gas giants would probably be better titled grand tour as the latter is more descriptive and better known description of flandro's achievement (as an aside, he was on my ph.d. thesis committee - guess that makes me a 12th generation pupil of euler!) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.50.90.64 (talk) 17:47, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
