Nothing mentioned about criticism

edit

As far as I could see on the internet, there was a lot of criticism about this person. why isn't there anything about in in this article? 2003:C8:AF17:1AFA:39A2:1A08:AFC7:CC07 (talk) 16:05, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

It depends if the criticism is well sourced. We won't add unreliable criticisms from blogs or podcasters. The article was created in 2011. About 10-12 years ago there were a handful of senior Wikipedia users who were inserting a pro animal rights POV onto many Wikipedia articles and didn't want any critical academic coverage. Some of these users are now deceased or no longer edit anymore. The same thing has happened to the Gary L. Francione and Tom Regan articles. There is no academic coverage of their work which has largely been negative in peer-reviewed journals. Gary Yourofsky is not an academic, he is an activist so I doubt there is much coverage of his work. As far as I know he hasn't published any books or papers.
I am a member of WP:WPAR and have made articles in this topic area more neutral. I have already fixed many in the past. The best thing to do is to go with what the academic sources say, look for book reviews in peer-reviewed journals. Obviously that is hard to do here with Yourofsky because he hasn't published anything. I have too much to do, so I won't be fixing this article anytime soon but leave a message on the talk-page of WP:WPAR if you need any help. Psychologist Guy (talk) 16:27, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
An incident where Gary Yourofsky grabbed a cart and propelled it because he did not like the promotion of animal testing is perhaps significant, but whether that would rise to the level of a law violation or ordinance violation would be at the discretion of the police, the prosecutors, and the judge. 199.242.176.66 (talk) 19:22, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
