Clearly that extra space surrounding the   symbol is the correct amount in expressions like   but not in expressions like those you see above. Merely writing G/{\sim} instead of G/\sim fixes the problem. Ambiguity of "connection" on the dictionary.

Dictionary is useful, but the explanation about gauge symmetry seems less. It said that gauge transformations that are covariantly constant with respect to the connection can be interpreted to the global gauge symmetry, but the page doesn't include any explanation which connection is used.
