editThe picture of the M30 gunner shows him wearing a green uniform rather than the standard Wehrmacht field gray. Is this correct or a problem stemming from colorizing a black and white picture? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Axeman (talk • contribs) 21:46, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Citations
editRight now nearly every section has an additional-citations-needed-section template. I think at this point it's probably best to tag the whole article as citations-needed.
I don't have access to this book, but it should be a good citation for at least most of the uniforms (has photos and descriptions): Williamson, George (2012). Gebirgsjager: German Mountain Trooper 1939-45. ISBN 978-1782000082. Retrieved February 10, 2014.. An ebook version is available Overdrive, if someone can check it out from their library to do the citations right. 0x0077BE (talk) 05:46, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Here is another citation to add: Meriam, Ray (1999). Gebirgsjaeger: Germany's Mountain Troops. World War II Arsenal. Vol. 3. Merriam Press. ISBN 1576381633.
This is based on the metadata from Books, but the images presented in the book preview are in the "World War II Journal #9", but either way you cite it, has about 60 pages of information, much of it accessible from the Google scan. 0x0077BE (talk) 06:11, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Automatic weapons
editWould it be a good idea to explain why they were equipped with fewer automatic weapons than other units, as said in the the first section after the intro summary? I'd just add "...which were better suited to the more open terrain upon which they were supposed to fight." or something like that (I don't actually know if that's why; it's an example).Widgetdog (talk) 01:01, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
'History' part lacks any mentioning of their war crimes
editIn the history - WWII section their war crimes in the southern European countries need to be mentioned and detailed. These units have been found to have committed some of the worst atrocities done by Wehrmacht whilest supposedly fighting the partisans.
