France or Holland company

edit

Is it a company from France or Holland? Because in the text it is stated that it is from Holland but at the bottom of the page it is listed as a French company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.136.150.86 (talk) 03:57, 28 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

The company Axalto NV was Dutch, Gemplus was French - Axalto became Gemalto at the start of the merger. [1]

Seems they profile themselves head quatered in Paris: http://www.gemalto.com/companyinfo/offices-locator. They may be incorporated (NV) in the Netherlands, yet, Amsterdam's packed with (semi) empty shell companies for tax reasons — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.246.37.7 (talk) 04:13, 25 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Disclosure: I work for Gemalto, but to answer your question, Gemalto is indeed incorporated legally in Holland, and we have our corporate offices there (with real employees!). However, for historical reasons preceding the creation of Gemalto and even Axalto, there remain a large number of operational offices in France. There are more employees in Singapore or the USA or France than there are in Amsterdam, this is true, and this reflects our International scope. Our primary stock exchange is in Holland, but we are also listed in Paris. The Headquarters section on http://www.gemalto.com/companyinfo/offices-locator has two other offices below the fold. The intention is to show three headquarters, reflecting our three regional decision centers.

No longer part of the CAC40

edit

Disclosure: I am an employee of Gemalto. Gemalto is no longer part of the CAC40. Could someone remove the banner at the bottom of the page? The current composition of the CAC40 can be found on this page from Euronext, updated daily: https://www.euronext.com/en/products/indices/FR0003500008-XPAR/market-information
