Dude, you left a message on my talk page, about a primary sources tag on General der Nachrichtenaufklärung. You do know I have been on Wikipedia for longer than a decade, and created over 400 article. So why the crass comment left on my talk page? If you had taken more than a few minutes to read the article and understood the nature of it, you would have realized it was about a secret German organization during World War II. How many historians and other writers, do you think, write about secret German/Nazi intelligence organizations during World War II. I'll tell you, you can count them on one hand. Nobody even knew about the organization until 1985-1989, when the NSA released a whole bunch of documents. So the idea there is going to be loads of secondary and other fancy sources you get in popular culture articles, is not there. That tag would sit there until end of time. I've taken it off. scope_creep (talk) 23:38, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Maybe you should refresh your memory about sourcing articles.-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:13, 7 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
Dear scope creep, this article is not too long and is the only information you can get about many very important details! Thank you.--Le Huic (talk) 18:05, 31 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Translation from German to English

Does anybody know what this is, translate from German to English

Wehrwirtschaftsnachr

scope_creep (talk) 21:03, 2 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Litterally, it is defense + economy, but might refer to mobilization. — 2606:A000:4C0C:E200:0:0:0:2 (talk) 21:15, 2 June 2017 (UTC)P.s: try translation queries at the language desk.Reply
Wehrwirtschaftsnachr (WWN) or "military economy msgs" were bulletins about the Russian economic situation compiled during WW2 by German army signal intelligence based on intercepted Soviet radio traffic, see [2]. Blooteuth (talk) 22:54, 2 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

You seem to be getting good answers this time, but for future reference, the Language reference desk is really the right one for this sort of query. --69.159.63.238 (talk) 00:10, 3 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

(EC): Wehrwirtschaftsnachr[.] is not a proper German word, it’s an abbreviation of Wehrwirtschaftsnachrichten (might also be spelt (spelled) Wehrwirtschafts-Nachrichten). Wehrwirtschaft has been translated as "war economy"; in this context, "report(s)" might be a fitting translation for Nachrichten (which has a whole range of meanings). DB/Error?

What do you make of this? Search for 'minor traffic'. It's in one paragraph in the section, 'Western intercept'. Find when it was included in July 2017. See if you can find it in any intervening revision. Try searching for any change and the search seems to loop on the last change record. Is this some sort of occasional known anomaly or perhaps a DB corruption? Neils51 (talk) 10:57, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I don't see it Neils51. It might have been fixed. scope_creep (talk) 11:38, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
scope_creep, have a look at say the last revision on 13 March, 2018. Can you find the string 'minor traffic'? I can't. Are you saying you can't find it in the latest revision? I have tried different browsers, so likely not cache related, etc.
