removed part of the treatment section. this is more reffering to a "dynamic valgus" ie seeing the knee drift medially during functional eccentric knee flexion. this can be trained but its not a true bony Genu valgum which can only be fixed with changes to the bones. Can we get some references, please? For example the Q-Angle test - no reference? Wow... Rfwoolf 09:50, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

The section on "treatment" is a bunch of crap. A true deformation does not have any known treatment, aside from surgical procedures, however, the majority of of these "cases" tend to be more of a pseudo-"deformation", where the cause is not a growth deformation, but simply a case of musculature imbalance. These types of problems are often corrected quite easily with corrective training procedures.

Much of the time, the appearance of genu valgum is caused simply by certain musculature overpowering other parts of the muscualture. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.144.86.122 (talk) 07:55, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

please do not mislead

edit

Valgus actually means OUTWARD not inward as the 4th line says in the article . The terms Valgus and Varus are used in relation to the distal portions of the bones . There are a LOT of confusions regarding the use of these terms , but nowhere has it been mentioned that Valgus means "inward" . Thus it would be better to say that Genu Valgum is used to describe a condition where the knees are bent inward , while Valgus is the term which has the exact opposite meaning than the condition. The term Genu Valgus was used in accordance with the HIP joint to decribe the condition of the knees , not in accordance with the Knee joint . Please visit the GENU VARUS page for more details and citations

edit

Could we have a section talking about the inward knee tilt during the lowest ROM of single let squat moves? I just heard this talked about here and am wondering if some appropriate cites with the same information could be found. 184.145.18.50 (talk) 12:50, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
