Geoffrey Coates → Geoffrey E. Coates – To distinguish from Geoffrey W. Coates, the living professor at Cornell. Confusingly, he is also a chemist who worked on organometallics and polymer chemistry. Aherthabey talk 23:12, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

• Oppose. Appears to be the primary topic. And also commonly known as just Geoffrey Coates in his own country (see Guardian obituary), although the American love of middle initials means he appears to have often been known as Geoffrey E. Coates in the US media. Geoffrey Coates (British chemist) would be the best alternative if it's decided he's not primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:27, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

A Google search of "Geoffrey Coates" via https://encrypted.google.com/webhp?complete=0&hl=en&pws=0 brings up results primarily for Geoffrey W. Coates, the Tisch professor at Cornell.
