Geophysical Survey of Canada

edit

There is no such organization called "Geophysical Survey of Canada". There is no need to list it as a part of Natural Resources Canada or the Earth Sciences Sector, because those are organizations and this is not an organization. This is not a department or an agency - the monitoring stations are part of the geomagnetic research & monitoring done by the Geological Survey of Canada.

I removed references to Earth Sciences Sector and Natural Resources Canada, because this is not an org and it's not part of those 2 orgs. It's not even an org within the Geological Survey of Canada - just a research & monitoring project. I corrected the list (added some, removed some - see reference page at the GSC).

I left the list of categories (departments, agencies, etc.), because I don't know how they are used by Wikipedia. Perhaps all of the org-related references should be removed, because this is not an org.

Geophysical Survey of CanadaCanadian Magnetic Observatories — Current title refers to a non-existent organization - content has been edited to reflect that 67.230.128.43 (talk) 06:01, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Considering the above request and the other comments on this page, I concluded that the best resolution was to merge and redirect this page into Geological Survey of Canada. It seems that "Canadian Magnetic Observatories" is not a proper name, and this article merely repeats some of the information on a single Geological Survey of Canada webpage. After those observations, seeing no indication that the article topic has any notability independent of the Geological Survey or of geomagnetism as a topic, and realizing that the proposed move is by an anon IP with no other Wikipedia experience, I decided to merge and redirect. --Orlady (talk) 17:08, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
