some re-work of the article
removed some factual errors (these originated from the earlier sources, see below)

regarding The American Cyclopedia and The New American Cyclopedia by Riple and Dana
these are the most extensive publicly available English sources, but they contain some errors
replaced inline references pointing to these, but kept them in the References section, with a note
added new publicly available source Encyclopedia Britannica (English, short) and the biography by Brusewitz (Swedish, extensive), pointing inline references to these, preferring Encyclopedia Britannica when possible
removed the below source since it is of inferior quality to the later Brusewitz source (both are in Swedish)
