Removal of honors, etc.
editI've removed a large section at the end involving Meegan's various honors and awards. These sections contained unnecessary detail and did not appear to enhance the general reader's understanding of the subject's life and career in any meaningful way. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, and all information about living people needs to be reliably sourced. These sections lacked any citations whatsoever.
The other sections of the article could probably be trimmed back as well in my opinion. As most of that information is sourced, however, I don't feel comfortable removing it in bulk but would prefer a more exhaustive copyedit. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 00:25, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- Added {{Cleanup rewrite}} with more info regarding my concerns - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 00:30, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
Rewrite needed
editJust want to strongly agree with Presidentman, this article needs extensive rewrite to remove repetitions and puff from the later sections. 125.209.148.43 (talk) 16:07, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
Death
editHe died back in January. Couldn't change date because family kept it private but news article finally dropped. https://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/news/remembering-george-meegan-the-man-who-walked-the-length-of-304226/ Don't know how to change it on the page.
