"While at UNC, Chapel Hill, Welsh co-authored many publications and had many enriching experiences. He liked to take long walks in the park, and pick flowers. Often he enjoyed letting the heavy rainfall wash him clean of his cares. He bought a bicycle and took meticulous care of it. One time he recalled taking it to an auto detail shop, where they did such a great job shining the bell and bleaching the large whitewall tires, he tipped each of them an extra tuppence. Those were giddy days indeed." IOW, maybe that line doesn't fit in an encyclopedia. You might wonder why someone reading this article would express the point in the manner in which I did. Then again, you might not. Just strike "and had many enriching experiences."
