editI'm failing this article, although it is informative & well-written, for the following reasons:
- Lack of substantial references. At the time I read this article, there were only 2, both to websites. Certainly there must have been one or two books written about this man!
- Related to the above is the presence of several opinions unattached to any person or source. Evidently, he did a lot for PSU; however, for this to be a GA, these opinions need to be attached to a source.
- Most of this article is about the changes that happened at the University, & not about Atherton himself. It is conceivable that this material could be moved from this article into one about PSU, which would leave only the intro paragraph & a single paragraph about the man -- practically a stub! I'd say this is the article's major failing. -- llywrch 23:44, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
