editFor some reason there is a link to the wrong Dimitrov under the "Georgi Dimitrov" link at the Bulgarian composers' list. Is there any way to sort this out? I have noted the note at the end of the article, but I believe it is still confusing this way. I might be able to write something about the composer.

Name
editThe Russians refer to Mr. Dimitrov as "Georgi Mikhailovich Dimitrov", indicating that Mikhail is his father's name. The name presented in the article, "Georgi Dimitrov Mikhailov", appears to indicate that Mikhailov was another surname, though there's still a possibility that Bulgarian customs allow, or recommend, presenting a patronym in such a manner. Can somebody more familiar with Bulgarian customs on personal names explain this further? Digwuren 22:54, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- "In Bulgarian, the patronymics are -ov / -ev and -ova / -eva for men and women, respectively. These are identical to the common endings of Bulgarian and some other Slavic family names (such as names in Russian and Czech)". From the patronymic article. --Asteriontalk 20:46, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
RE: Name
editIf his father's name is Mikhail and his family name is Dimitrov, it should read: Georgi Mikhailov Dimitrov. Unfortunately, this article only mentions his mother's name, not his father's. Nevertheless, in Bulgarian the rule is that your second name is your father's name. For example if you read up the article on Vasil Levski, it says he was born Vasil Ivanov Kunchev, and under the biography section it does mention his father's name Ivan Kunchev; that is, Vasil the son of Ivan, Kunchev.
- His father's name was Dimitar, so Georgi Dimitrov Mikhailov is the correct Bulgarian name. However, according to official Soviet documents his Russian-language name is Georgiy Mikhaylovich Dimitrov. Charodeev (talk) 19:28, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
Mass Murder

There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.
The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.
Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 03:33, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Currency
editIs it worth noting in the article that he was on Bulgarian currency beginning in 1951? He appeared on several denominations of the Bulgarian lev following his death. -=Worloq=- (talk) 05:07, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
