Before this, GC was limited to 263,000 lbs. due to the capacity of the line’s bridges. In the past few years, GC invested $4 million to increase the capacity of their freight cars by creating thousands of bridge stringers and crossties.

- Specific text to be added: Also in 2019, Genesee & Wyoming announced that GC will serve a major new plastics distribution facility under construction on its line in Pooler, Georgia. GC is transporting bulk plastic resin to the new Plastic Express center, which will be repackaged to the Port of Savannah to be exported for international markets.
