RAT parents
editThe RAT parents from at least 2003-2006 were elected by Band Club. Post-2007 the directors made RAT Parents officially part of Band Leadership (the RAT parents receive compensation for their duties) with the understanding that the directors had the final say in who got elected. RATs at Auburn
editIn the Auburn University marching band, first-year members are called RATs, for Rookie Auburn Tiger. I find it hard to believe that both Auburn and GT developed RATs by sheer coincidence. The question is, who came up with it first? Did GT steal from Auburn, or did Auburn steal from GT? I am asking the same question on Auburn University Marching Band. According to the GT band page, the term was first used in 1915. The Auburn band was founded in 1897. Mellophonius (talk) 23:57, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
