I'll have a look at this one, will post review as soon as possible. Kosack (talk) 14:07, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Initial review

Lead

edit
  • "As of February 2018, Georgia is currently ranked 41st in the World Ranking", I think using currently in a situation like this is largely discouraged per WP:PRECISELANG. It also seems like it contradicts itself by using both currently and six months ago.
  • "played in theithe World Championship tournament", bit of a phrasing question. Should this be the World Championships? The article itself is located there and looking at some other pages (Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic), all of which seem to use Championships.
  • " winning it in 2018" > winning the competition?
  • "as well as the 2018 Winter Olympics qualification", I'm a little confused by what this means. Did they qualify for the Olympics by winning the 2018 World Championships?
Addressed things here. Removed reference to the 2018 Winter Olympics, as it really isn't serving anything. Kaiser matias (talk) 20:13, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Soviet Union

edit
  • "A specialist from Moscow", specialist seems an odd way to describe him I feel, do we know why Zakharov was a specialist? Was he a notable player or coach?
The source literally says "specialist" in Georgian (the same word, actually), but I changed it to trainer as that is a more accurate description of what he did. Unfortunately I have no idea who he was, as he wasn't a Soviet hockey player, or at least one of note.
  • Is Kote Bakhutashvili notable? WP:REDLINK would discourage including links for people who are unlikely to meet notability guidelines.
He would technically qualify under WP:NHOCKEY, but I'm going to remove the link as its a really weak case (9 minutes of game-time in his career).
  • "the ice rink was demolished in the post-Soviet era", what ice rink? That's the first mention of it in the text?
Clarified that I hope.
Everything here done. Kaiser matias (talk) 20:21, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Modern era

edit
  • "due to Georgia's use of ineligible players", why were the players considered ineligible? This could do with more explaining.
That has never fully been clarified, but it's believed that some of their players were brought in from abroad (mainly Russia) and didn't fulfil the IIHF eligibility criteria. However that has never been confirmed, and there is no reliable sources that mention that, so I'm afraid the IIHF's neutral terminology is the best we got. No worries, we can only go off the sources we have. Kosack (talk) 22:29, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

World Championship record

edit
  • Table appears to be unsourced.
Will add that shortly. Kaiser matias (talk) 20:28, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

References

edit
  • Ref 6 is displaying an error message.
Will try and fix that. Kaiser matias (talk) 20:28, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Done now.

A few minor issues I've spotted during a run through. Article is relatively short but too be expected given the relative infancy of the national side according to the page. Placed on hold while the points above are dealt with. Kosack (talk) 16:25, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Got most done, just a few more that will have to wait a bit, but should be done soon. Kaiser matias (talk) 20:28, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Addressed everything here now. Kaiser matias (talk) 21:34, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Kaiser matias: Nice work, I'm happy that all of the concerns raised above have been dealt with and this meets the relevant GA criteria. Promoting. Kosack (talk) 22:37, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
