I have included details of Australian companies. It would be good to talk about the govt. handouts for exploration and have more detail of project advancement. -Tim 12/03/2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.70.142.147 (talk) 11:34, 12 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

In 2015, the first sentence is now outdated as the industry is NOT growing, but has completely stalled. The potential resources in central Australia were never going to be practical resources as they are stranded - too far from the transmission grid, and to build a connector would cost billions of dollars. Recommend this article be re-written. -Dave Kimble 26/01/2015 — Preceding unsigned comment added by DaveKimble (talkcontribs) 01:47, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Most (all?) of the companies listed here have changed their names and are no longer involved in geothermal exploration or development. Appears Geodynamics invested and learnt the most before shutting down the pilot operation. This articcle needs a complete rewrite along lines of the original opportunity, the obstacles faced, why ventures failed and whether this type of energy generation may be looked at again in the future. ~+~+ — Preceding unsigned comment added by OracleOfStanwellPark (talkcontribs) 19:37, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I've edited the page and brought it up to date. Unfortunately this technology hasn't been successful and no plants are currently operating. A real shame for a technology that at one time appeared to have so much promise. OracleOfStanwellPark (talk) 04:43, 30 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
