Work in Progress
editCol. Williams notability has been challenged. There is additional supportive material that will be added promptly. Please do not delete at this time. Maineshepp (talk) 12:22, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm stepping back at this stage. I think the combination of awards makes him lineball and I'm not going to press the notability issue at this stage. Good luck with it. Peacemaker67 (send... over) 08:20, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

editHow can we document the military ranks and promotions for Gerald Evan Williams?
What about military awards from US, England, and France?
Maineshepp (talk) 11:49, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
- His British DFC would not be recorded in the archive of the London Gazette. I checked it as well to be sure. GraemeLeggett (talk) 13:27, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
Thank you. Maineshepp (talk) 15:07, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
I suggest you try militarytimes.com for awards. PIAM54 (talk) 22:12, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
I think we're getting there. Official Army Register, 1946 has a lot of detail. Maineshepp (talk) 13:40, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Can someone help "decode" the following bio entry from Official Army Register
- "A. M. (12 O.L.C.)"
received it 12 times--but what? Air Mechanic? Maineshepp (talk) 14:14, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the correct ID. The abbreviation page from Official Army Register seemed a little confusing. Maineshepp (talk) 16:25, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
