I'm interested in pronunciation. I am an English Gerdes. We generally pronounce it 'Ger' (as in "her") 'dis' (like "hiss" but with a slightly shorter ss). I understand that in Germany it is more like "g-air-ds" 212.159.124.181 (talk) 21:27, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Almost, except for the second vowel which is more like the first letter of "about". Rather "'gher,dɘs". I added the IPA writing. --FlammingoHey 14:15, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
