Reason for emigration to Canada

Why isn't the reason for emigration to Canada mentioned in the article? The German version explains that he lost his tenure in Darmstadt in 1935 because of the Jewish background of his wife. The Nobel webpage simply mentions "he had to emigrate from Germany". Please add the info with proper references.
