This article is heavily misleading. The term "Auslandsdeutsche" is never used in Germany, due to historical connotations. The numbers are heavily misleading. These 500000 Germans in Russia are not citizens, and not regarded as Germans by Germany, they have only the right to German citizenship. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Germans_in_Russia_and_the_Soviet_Union should be linked for these numbers.
