RfC for the address of redirect
editIt seems like their is no consensus when it comes to this redirect. See the edits and summaries [1]. My first instinct would be to redirect to Get Smart, but I want to build consensus. Cocoaguy ここがいい 15:37, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- You should discuss this on the current talk page and have the RfC there. IRWolfie- (talk) 20:28, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

- Yes. IRWolfie- (talk) 13:45, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- Too late. The discussion is already happening here, but IRWolfie was completely correct. Burying an RfC that would affect multiple articles on some redirect's talk page is not helpful. I will notify the rest of the talk page. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ɖ∘¿¤þ Contrib. 18:38, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

- Aim it at Get Smart (disambiguation), I don't think there is a compelling case that one is the primary topic, especially since this has an exclamation, but the claimed more notable subject does not. Monty845 16:21, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- Comment: That doesn't seem helpful. The fact that the band has an exclamation and the show doesn't is already a disambiguator. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ɖ∘¿¤þ Contrib. 18:38, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
- My take:
- Get Smart should direct to Get Smart, referring to the 1960s television series (this is by far the most common association)
- Get Smart! should direct to Get Smart! (band) (that exclamation point makes all the difference)
- both the Get Smart and the Get Smart! (band) pages should have a "for other uses, see Get Smart (disambiguation)" line
- any other Get Smart usage (say, "Get Smart?") should direct to Get Smart (disambiguation). Problem solved. Dezastru (talk) 18:43, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with Dezastru, except for the suggestion that Get Smart! (band) should have a "for other uses, see Get Smart (disambiguation)" line because we don't normally put dab links on pages where the name has been qualified (eg, Get Smart (1995 TV series) and Get Smart (film) don't have dab entries). - Ditto to Robman94 - plus the band not really as well known, is it? CarolMooreDC 14:49, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Dezastru's plan is most correct, in my opinion.
— V = IR (Talk • Contribs) 23:05, 26 April 2012 (UTC) - Dezastru's plan seems right to me as well. --joe deckertalk to me 02:27, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
- Put the band at Get Smart!, since that is the band name. Put the TV show at Get Smart since that it the TV show name. They are already naturally disambiguated. Use a hatnote to prevent any confusion. Make sure Get Smart (disambiguation) points to the right places. Dirt-simple, policy-correct solution. We do not add disambiguating parentheticals unless necessary, and it's self-evidently not necessary here, so Dezastru's idea is clearly inappropriate. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ɖ∘¿¤þ Contrib. 18:38, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
