About this project
editThis article's initial content (in Hebrew and English) was written and edited by the staff of the Ghetto Fighters' House.
We plan to translate it into numerous foreign languages for Wikipedia. Deborahjay 03:40, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Spelling of name: Itzhak Katzenelson [sic]
editThe spelling here is the official version used by the Ghetto Fighters' House itself, including the English-language key word in GFH's online archives (of which I'm a co-maintainer).
In addition, I've already noted on the discussion page for the article presently titled Yitzhak Katznelson [sic], that the surname is incorrect (it's Katzenelson, in transcription from the Yiddish original). The version I'm suggesting is supported by two established, mainstream encyclopaedias, the Encyclopaedia Judaica and the Encyclopedia of the Holocaust, whose authority on Jewish biographies and Holocaust-era history (respectively) is widely accepted.
There's been no response yet to that discussion, so I'll pursue the rename suggestion by Wikipedia channels as yet unfamiliar to me. Advice appreciated! Deborahjay 06:58, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Update: page Move performed, reflecting spelling of first name per sources noted above. -- Deborahjay 16:05, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
links
editPer WP:LINKING "Links should not be placed in the boldface reiteration of the title in the opening sentence of a lead." Also: "When possible, avoid placing links next to each other so that they look like a single link." The term "Jewish Resistance" in the museum's name refers to a much broader phenomenon than the Jewish Resistance Movement that existed in 1945-46, so it's confusing to link those words to that article.Prezbo (talk) 07:19, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hadn't known about that linking rule; thanks. More to the point, you're quite correct that Jewish Resistance Movement was in error. I'm adding the appropriate link, Jewish resistance under Nazi rule, under the heading See also. -- Deborahjay (talk) 08:49, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
