Native title claim
editThis edit adds the statement that "A native title claim ... known as the Dambimangari claim, the Wilinggin claim was the first to be determined".
Is there one claim or two? Is it the Dambimangari claim or the Wilinggin claim?
I started to rewrite that sentence as:
The [Dambimangari / Wilinggin] claim, a native title claim lodged in 1998 by the Registered Native Title Body Corporate of the Wanjina Wunggurr people, was the first to be determined, by litigation, on 27 August 2004.
but I got stuck because of the two different claim names.

- Hi Mitch Ames, yes, it took me ages to work out the whole tangle of that native title claim and who and what all of the terms referred to (which I started because of one article, and ended up digging it all up for a number of related articles). I thought that I'd pop a bit in this article as the Gibb RR is mentioned in one of the claims, but evidently didn't finish it off in a way that made it clear. I have now added more detail in the article as well as a footnote - let me know if you find this comprehensible at first reading. (The sources supply further detail, of course.) Laterthanyouthink (talk) 00:15, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- So now we still have
A native title claim lodged in 1998 ... known as the Dambimangari claim, the Wilinggin claim was the first to be determined for the Ngarinyin people
which still doesn't parse correctly.
Should it be "... originally known as Dambimangari claim..." (then subsequently renamed - and/or split into three, the first of which to settle was Wilinggin)? Would it make more sense if the sentence was split into two shorter sentences? Mitch Ames (talk) 12:54, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, it should have at least had an "In" at the beginning of the sentence to parse correctly... Anyway, I've broken it up and reshuffled a bit. See if you think it makes sense, but feel free to change as you think fit. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 03:40, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
