editThis page would really benefit from a photo of somewhere on Gibbet Hill (or perhaps Tocil Wood), if anyone has one. --CyberCD 19:44, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- Having made this page...oooh...3mins ago(!) I'm not sure of the need to merge it into the main University of Warwick page, which is pretty long as it is. --CyberCD 19:57, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- It definitely does not need a separate article. It's one part of one university, is a pretty small part at that, and has no particular claim to fame. What can be said here that doesn't belong in the main University of Warwick article? -- Necrothesp 01:11, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Merge. It's a small collection of buildings with no particular importance to anything other than Warwick. Iridium77 11:17, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Merge. If the article on Warwick is too long, (IMHO) it's because it's too full of unimportant details - that is, things that only people attending warwick would care about, but that anyone attending warwick would already know. Details like a list of shops on campus, and "legends and myths". Mike1024 (t/c) 12:13, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't see how any article can be 'too long'. The more information the better I say! cls14
I think its right to have its own page, The Warwick University page is really informative but doesn’t need any more info of this kind. The Gibbet hill article could be expanded to mention about the hanging in 1765 and perhaps some more history connected with the name. I would do it, but don't have time to properly research it right now.soundy
- As it is at the moment, this article is a stub which provides nothing that could not easily be part of the main article. Unless anyone wants to extend this into a real article, it should die. Iridium77 22:55, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest deletion. One corner of a campus is not worth an article.Billlion 15:17, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

- I think they should remain separate articles. I think Each page will expand in time to form two useful pages. Snowman 13:23, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- Is every corner of a campus worth an encylopedia article? Billlion 14:36, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- No, but Gibbet Hill is somewhat distinct from the rest of campus, and the people who work there seem to feel they work somewhere 'different'.--CyberCD 16:47, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well I studeied there too but as Mike1024 said above, why would anyone who was not at Warwick University care, and if they were there wouldnt they know about it anyway? Billlion 20:20, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

There are many places in the world called "Gibbit Hill". I happen to live about 5 miles from one of them (In the U.S.) My dictionary says that a gibbet is another term for the hangman's gallows.
Since this is the case, there should be some form of disambiguation. Have a look at www.gibbethill.com 66.189.89.205 (talk) 00:42, 13 January 2008 (UTC)super7
