Current developments
editThe article currently states: "The City of Giddings and the Giddings Economic Development are currently working together to develop the Central Business District Development Area. A visitor's center will be established, along with a museum of agriculture and history. The freight depot nearby will house a display celebrating the city's links with the railroad. The city hopes to complete this by 2009.
A walking tour of the historic downtown area should be completed by summer 2006, using pavers embedded in new sidewalks. These pavers will show the locations and histories of key buildings and places of the early 1900s town."
However, it is now 2010, what became of these projects, are they complete or still ongoing? What others, of significant cultural or public value, have been taken up?≤Kargin (talk) 07:25, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
Notable residents
editPlease define how the following people are notable enough for an encylopedic entry. : Kurt Mitschke, Texas Cowboy David Porter (born ca. 1957), the Republican nominee for Texas Railroad Commissioner in the November 2, 2010, general election, is a CPA in Giddings.
How is being a CPA or nominee significantly notable? Also, how many cowboy's are from all areas of Texas? This single fact definitely needs to be expanded upon to be included otherwise such entries open way for an avalanche of inclusions for does the community not consider its police, state trooper, sheriff, fire fighter, ambulance and soldiers as notable? History
editThis article says that early settlers in Giddings were ethnic Anglo-Saxon. I have my doubts since we are talking about the 19th century. It is more likely that the early settlers of Giddings were English speaking Americans. When the Winds moved in, they seem to have spoken German and Sorbin. This can be seen in the the article about Serbin, (Texas). F3meyer (talk) 08:27, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
Flag of needing additional verification
editAs all the notable residents are linked to a page on Wikipedia, is it necessary to further add links/sources on the Giddings page where they are each noted on their individual pages? ≤Kargin (talk) 18:28, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
