End of this prohibition
editDoes anyone know the act that put an end to the prohibition created by this act? If so, please add. --George The Man (talk) 00:29, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- This is incorrect the production of gin was NOT made illegal!. The three main points of the act were --
- prohibited gin distillers from selling to unlicensed merchants
- restricted retail licenses to substantial property holders, and
- charged high fees to those merchants eligible for retail licenses
If you are interested, this Act was repealed by the Administration of Justice Act 1965(c.2), section 34 and Schedule 2.James500 (talk) 17:36, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
