editGiovanni Falcone a true hero to many... Lest we forget He has done many great things for his nation... Lest we forget A great judge who served well to many...Lest we forget!
"The car in which he was travelling was blown up by a bomb that had been placed in trenches dug by the side of the road." Is this true? Why would anyone attempting to kill someone, place a bomb on the side of the road in a trench assuming that someone would actually drive over it? This doesn't make sense to me... the bomb was controlled by remote
The bomb was planted below the highway surface using a water drainage conduct, large enough to let someone push the explosive below it. This was one of the few ways left after previous attempts to Falcone's life had failed (the Addaura bomb for instance). Gianni Brusca was found guilty of detonating the explosive charge from an hill nearby. Gianni Brusca knew that Falcone would eventually have to drive through the freeway connecting the Airport to the city of Palermo - he had also been tipped off as to Falcone's return to Palermo eventually.
Judge Chinnici was killed years before using a bazooka - the Mafia would use any means to get rid of a judge.

The prhase: "He who's afraid dies every day, who's not afraid dies only once." belong to Paolo Borsellini, not to Giovanni Falcone. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.241.24.187 (talk) 01:00, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Borsellino, NOT Borsellini! Böri (talk) 10:01, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
Giovanni Falcone (1993) should be added to the "Falcone in film" section
editMichele Placido's portrayal of Falcone in Giovanni Falcone (1993) should be added to the "Falcone in film" section. 85.92.246.76 (talk) 12:03, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
