Dual citizenship?

edit

Article states that Edwards maintained dual citizenship "throughout his life." But the U.S. did not permit dual citizenship until fairly recently; in the act of being naturalized, one foreswore previous allegiances. To be sure, he grew up in a casual time and place, and he died before computers harmonized everything, but I rather doubt this statement. --Cubdriver 20:48, 18 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, unless one or both of his parents were American citizens, he couldn't have been an American citizen "throughout his life", as naturalization isn't usually retroactive to birth. As such, I've removed the unsourced dual-citizenship claim. - BilCat (talk) 05:07, 29 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Loss

Should "Loss" section be renamed "Death" to be more consistent with other Wikipedia articles, and be more readable to those less fluent in English? 71.139.166.86 (talk) 17:32, 23 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
