Results section
editI removed the results section. Individual match results aren't really needed I feel. If you look at this, the Footballbox template isn't used for individual clubs, just competitions. Stu ’Bout ye! 11:07, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I added St Stephen's Day for boxing day as it is more appropriate seen as they play in a Catholic Island and so it is only right.
They play in a protestant state, so it's wrong

Politically-motivated edit
editThis article has come to the attention of an editor intent on imposing a personal view that the term "Northern Irish" is unacceptable. Under WP:BRD, editors are expected to come to the Talk page if they have been reverted. To continue to edit in these circumstances can be considered as disruptive. The text should be restored so as to remain consistent with other similar articles. There is no consensus that references to "Northern Irish" as a demonym for football clubs should be removed from the encyclopaedia. Mooretwin (talk) 12:27, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- I know your edit is politically motivated thats why I removed the POV. BigDunc 12:30, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- What edit do you "know" is politically motivated, and what is the alleged political motivation? There was no "POV" to remove. You are obliged to seek consensus for edits which you know are controversial. No such consensus has been established for your claim that "Northern Irish" is POV when applied as a demonym for a football club. Mooretwin (talk) 12:37, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- (commenting as an uninvolved admin) And what do the sources say? Any further controversial edits to this article should be accompanied by a source so that the information can be verified by third party editors. Also, rather than having this same conversation on multiple talkpages, please try to find a centralized point of discussion. Perhaps WP:ECCN? --Elonka 19:11, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

There is not the name of Burrows put in the current team. Why? His goal was the best one scored in 2010. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.113.227.104 (talk) 14:17, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

No such thing like "Vienna Cup" in 1914
editAfter rifling through loads of contemporary Viennese papers, it is my sincere opinion, that there was no such thing like a "Vienna Cup" which Glentoran was playing for in Vienna. There were two friendlies against a Vienna select XI, and that was it. The Viennese press spoke of "usual friendlies in town in the summer break. This year we will see Glentoran against ..., Burnley will play", etc. blah, blah, blah. The Viennese are polite, thus visiting teams may have gotten some mementos, and that's about it. "Vienna Cup" is in all likelihood a myth created in Belfast. Oalexander (talk) 06:23, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
