"The neutrality of this article is disputed"

edit

Does anyone know what is not neutral about this article? 2604:3D08:D180:4500:7CA9:C765:CF7A:DD0B (talk) 02:29, 5 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Note to editors

edit

This article was AfD'd a very short time ago and closed as delete. However, it has been worked on by a user in userspace and I believe it is now a valid (and well-referenced) stub that establishes notability. - The Bushranger One ping only 01:53, 6 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Citing and referencing

edit

There are a lot of citations missing from this article.

Encyclopedic content must be verifiable, which means please place third party references into the article. It is not enough to say, for example, "On the 28th October 2011, to coincide with the first day of the Perth hosted Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, the Global Poverty Project will host The End of Polio Concert" without giving a citation.

Supporters section

edit

Having a section with "Supporters" isn't necessary. Everyone supports a charity. I'll leave the comments open to discussion here.

Reversion

edit

There was substantial uncited content added (similar to the content prior to the AfD) by both an anon IP and a new user. Those same edits also removed numerous well cited reliable sources. I've gone ahead and reverted the article back to the last clean version of the stub that was well cited, and written a note on the new editor's talk page regarding reliable sourcing. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 15:45, 13 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you ConcernedVancouverite for undoing my edits and citations needed - I thought I helped by mentioning [citation needed] just to get the other editors involved to produce a clearer article which is cited.

I have cleaned up the article and removed "dnaindia" reference which does not mention "Live Below the Line" at all. I think there is still evidence of puffery still. Please read everything thoroughly - it is not enough to cite random things not pertaining to the text we cite. Thank you. Domenico.y (talk) 16:03, 13 October 2011 (UTC) Domenico.yReply

Could you please provide a diff for the dnaindia link you mentioned removing? I can't seem to locate that edit. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 16:07, 13 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Where does it say "Live Below the Line campaign" on this reference of Hugh Jackman

edit

Hi ConcernedVancouverite, Where does it say in this reference that Hugh Jackman supported the "Live Below the Line campaign" campaign? It does not. Please stop reverting edits done by me when you have not checked them. Please take this citation out of the reference, because it is clearly not there. There are plenty other references which cite that Jackman supported the "Live Below the Line campaign", but not this one: I am a big goofball: Hugh Jackman, Daily News and Analysis, January 2, 2009.]]

Thank you. Domenico.y (talk) 16:10, 13 October 2011 (UTC) Domenico.yReply

To clarify my post above, I was not attempting to revert any edits by Domenico.y. I was simply returning the article to the last clean version prior to the massive changes from anon IP 118.209.132.181 here [1] and new editor CarrRenee here [2]. I reverted the article to the last clean version before those edits which had removed numerous citations and added numerous uncited promotional claims. If that last clean version has a few cites that need to be edited, please do go ahead and work from that version. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 16:29, 13 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
When I go into [3] there is not a reference or a cite. "The page you were looking for could not be found."
Please stop putting in additional references 10 minutes ago that do not cite the text. Domenico.y (talk) 16:46, 13 October 2011 (UTC) Domenico.yReply
The link loads fine for me. One relevant portion, since you apparently can't read the article for yourself with the link for some technical reason are, "...said Melbourne-based Simon Moss, co-founder of the UN-backed project, which will open in Melbourne on July 4 before travelling around the country, leading the way for similar presentations around the world." It is fairly clear from both the secondary reliable sources as well as the organization itself that Moss is a co-founder. Please clarify which "additional references that do not cite the text" you are referring to. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 18:13, 13 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Note to editors: Citing sources

edit

Note to editors: Please read the reference and if it does not say anywhere in the article about the subject, then do not put the reference or cite in. Thank you. Domenico.y (talk) 16:49, 13 October 2011 (UTC) Domenico.yReply

It would be helpful if you provided a diff to the specific issue you are referring to, as this quite general note to editors does not make it clear which specific citation you are objecting to. If you have found a citation listed in the article which does not support the claim it is cited for, please provide the diff so it can be discussed here and a consensus can be reached. Thank you. NPOV work and other edits

edit

This article needs some NPOV work, but I think that what the article has been built up to is a good starting point for further edits. Open for discussion, but personally don't think it is worth culling all of the content straight away - why not improve on already existing article? - Besty 13:24, 19 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Besty (talkcontribs)

I'm going to revert your massive deletion of cited sources. I suggest you use a working copy of the version you are interested in pulling from and add in bits as you are able to cite them. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 01:02, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Live Below the Line

edit

Josh Groban just tweeted that he is participating in this project next week (May 7 et seq. 2012)

Why am I not able to find "Live Below the Line" or "Global Poverty Project" or "livebelowtheline.com" when searching the IRS website of tax exempt organizations? Why is the address of "Live Below the Line" listed on the website as "Lucky Duck Productions?" Searching the Internet, this seems to be a TV studio.

I am also not able to find it in charitynavigator.org — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skysong263 (talkcontribs) 07:45, 5 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

ONE and Results Canada

edit

An edit from IP 172.88.231.147 was reverted on Jan 19 2021 as a bad content removal. The original IP edit appears to be correct; outside of being mentioned as campaigning together for a similar cause in one article[1] (from a primary source), there appears no discernable connection or partnership between ONE and Results Canada that warrants inclusion on this page.
