Confusion

Something is confusing me:

If the series ENDED september 9th 2006, then why have there been airings of new shows on 9/18/2006, 10/30/2006, and 10/31/2006? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Antmusic (talkcontribs) 21:58, 14 December 2006 (UTC).

This has been clarified in the article. The show ended its run on CBS only. Balamw 20:32, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Even more confusing hiw can that be Matthew Hunter when he died 40 years ago and it's not the 20th-unamed user 10:57, 09 January 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.102.190.137 (talk)

Collaboration Request

Could the editors who work on this article please collaborate with the editors of the Dora the Explorer article, since I have already noticed one inaccuracy between the 2 articles which does not tally. In the Dora article, Diego's Sister is referenced as Daisy, but I know from my own DVD Version of Go, Diego, Go that Diego's sister is named Alicia. I am just wondering whether there could be a little sharing of info to keep these 2 articles accurate. Thanks. Thor Malmjursson 14:29, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

His sister Alicia is apparently closer to his age at 11 while his sister Daisy turned 15 in an episode of Dora. This discrepancy has been added to the Trivia section, though the recently added explanation that Daisy doesn't live at the Animal Rescue Center (and thus is not seen on GDG), while Alicia has never been seen on Dora (e.g. at family parties, like her sister's 15th birthday) makes this highly unlikely). The show's creators probably didn't think a 15 year old Daisy would be a good fit for the new show. Balamw 20:39, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Why could a 15 year old be a problem for the show, when Diego's parents appear in it??? That just mystifies me. Thor Malmjursson 10:20, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Maradona

Saw this character in an exes' display picture at msn... Isn't he inspired in Maradona? He kinda has some related features, cloth colour, physical appareance (minus hair, his' strait) and name.Undead Herle King 21:40, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Criticism

I think the issue of the pidgin language 'Spanglish' (a language that is a combination of English and Spanish) and the problems associated with it should be added to the criticism section. I speak Spanish and English but I think the show's bilingualism is a bad idea. It encourages speaking a mixed language that is neither English nor Spanish. This confuses children who are exposed to both English and Spanish in their daily lives. They will blur the distinction between the two languages and speak English peppered with Spanish when it is not appropriate. Even worse, this could lead to a pidgin or creole language in the future for the United States. That would be bad for the economy, culture and social cohesion. Yes to multilingualism, No to pidgins. I am sure we can find a reputable source that will agree. --Jon in California 10 September 2007

My younger siblings, now 3 and 5 have watched Diego since it first aired and neither of them have issues discerning one language from the other. - Mel (Sep. 28 '07) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.1.215.93 (talk) 15:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Removal of Portuguese mention

A previous edit of this article mentioned that Diego should speak Portuguese instead of Spanish because he spends a lot of time in the Amazon; I deleted that since he could easily be in Peru (there other mentions of Peruvian Fauna: Llamas, Chinchilas, Condors, etc.). —Preceding unsigned comment added by BartLU97 (talkcontribs) 17:56, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

New episodes being added to article

Can anyone with a bit more scope of the show please verify that some of the new episodes, such at the one shown in [revision] actually exist? Not finding much trace on the net. Thor Malmjursson 11:52, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Also is there a rumored solo ep of Go Diego Go with Alicia on mission by herself? Yes its true bout the solo rescue!

Not sure why "Rhea is an Animal Rescuer" is omitted from the current revision of the episode list. (Or where it should appear if included.) But it aired on TVOntario.[1] (Note: TVO's episode numbering doesn't align with this list.) -- 99.228.247.82 (talk) 22:05, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for the flurry of edits. The episode list should now be complete. The episode titles and production codes are from NickJr.com. Alternate titles are shown in parentheses. Where tv.com had an earlier air date, I changed it here. That said, we do need help in reviewing these dates ... I suspect some (particularly the tail end of season 2) are re-runs as they're co-mingled with Season 3. Also, there's something odd about Tuga Helps the Moon. When it aired on TVOntario, it was 23+ minutes. However, according to NickJr's description of the Moonlight Rescue DVD, this is supposedly a double length episode. -- -- Robocoder (t|c) 03:12, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Theme song?

I thought the line was "Deep inside the jungle, where nature's running wild." Anyone have closed captioning?

Why can't they just always talk spanish

Why was the theme song removed? I would refer to this page on occasion to sing the song to my toddler. Can I add it back? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.99.6.9 (talk) 17:23, 6 April 2007 (UTC).
Methinks the lyrics are copyrighted. -- -- Robocoder (t|c) 03:15, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Book Series

Someone should add a list of the books series, such as the list on the Dora page. Genuinearticle (talk) 15:09, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree that the books should be added to it! Also think Alicia needs a entry of her own! Also there should be list of the characters of Go Diego Go!

Hell, why don't YOU do it?ThegreatWakkorati (talk) 16:03, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Is there a Go Diego Go movie? —Preceding unsigned comment added by BLACKMYSTECHRANGER (talkcontribs) 23:25, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Should not the third seasons ep be in order of when the aired? —Preceding unsigned comment added by BLACKMYSTECHRANGER (talkcontribs) 11:57, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Should not items that were in Go Diego Go, be asigned a spot? Also should not there be a mention if there is a Go Diego Go live movie!

Should not the entries for the episodes that have been on already be in order, an the entry above the halloween dvd is wrong! —Preceding unsigned comment added by BLACKMYSTECHRANGER (talkcontribs) 12:45, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Will the show really end this year?

I don't see any confermation from Viacom or anyone else. Dalekusa 20:43, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

"Doomsday" has passed, but no real event... Dalekusa 22:50, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Shouldnt the new voices of Diego an Alicia be added? Also isnt it time to major league overall this, an correct it, as example the halloween dvd of Go Diego Go, an the recent one, plus a couple other dvds that has Go Diego Go episodes in it! Also should not the air dates for the episodes be in order of date? —Preceding unsigned comment added by BLACKMYSTECHRANGER (talkcontribs) 12:11, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

New Outfits?

Does anyone know why images of Diego in a red sweatshirt have been popping up, both on Nick Jr, and some of the official merchandise? "Diego's International Rescue League" is the only new episode I've been able to catch, so I don't know if everyone was recently given a new, default outfit, within the past month, or what?

Marquez fact-checking

I have fact-tagged the claim that Diego's surname is Marquez. I would like to know if anyone could supply evidence for this. Dora's surname being Marquez is supported by Boots calling Dora's mom "Senora Marquez" (Senora meaning "Mrs., implying marriage and adopting the husband's surname) but I am not aware of evidence supporting the extending of that surname to Diego as well. Is it mentioned in any episodes of his show?

The season 3 episode "Meet Diego" mentions he is her cousin, but not any more than that. The assumption that Dora's dad "Papi" is brothers with Diego's father appears to be built on the idea that Diego shares Dora's surname, but we should establish this is true with a reference before making that statement. Split to List of Go, Diego, Go! episodes

ScratchMarshall placed on the episode section a proposed split tag stating as an edit summary "5 seasons is enough for this to have its own page".

  • Oppose given that this section is just a table of titles with no plot descriptions in any of the entries, the length of that section in proportion to the rest article is reasonable and I see no benefit to splitting it out. The article is not long enough to support a split just based on article length. Geraldo Perez (talk) 13:05, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Oppose – while the episodes list does look like it needs to be "cleaned up" to follow more standard formatting for episodes lists/tables on Wikipedia, it certainly doesn't warrant being split-out into a separate article. --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:15, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Is it acceptable to begin adding plot descriptions then? Wanted to do that but didnt want to flood the main article with edits if they could be relegated to list.ScratchMarshall (talk) 08:24, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

@ScratchMarshall: That is a lot of episodes to watch if you wish to add plot descriptions in your own original wording. Great if that is what you are planning. However if you are planning on copying the descriptions from some other location, please don't do that as that would be plagiarism or possibly copyright violations depending on how the source is licensed. Geraldo Perez (talk) 13:15, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
To add - the titles themselves are pretty descriptive of the episode content. Much more probably isn't worth it. Geraldo Perez (talk) 13:17, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

73.180.12.234 re-added the split propose tag with no edit summary.
