Talk:Goo Goo Dolls (album)

Releases

edit

Most likely because of its rarity, there is a confusion among which record label originally published it. The official site claims that it came from Celluloid, while others say it came from Mercenary Records, and some even claim it came from Metal Blade (the latter is most likely erroneous).

This is just not true. There are 3 versions of the First Release album.

1. Goo Goo Dolls (Self titled), 1987 release by Mercenary Records (marketed and distributed by Celluloid). Catalog #: MERCD-2102 This one has a red cover with the bands name in white, and was released on CD, LP and MC

2. Goo Goo Dolls - First Release, 1991 remastered by Metal Blade Records (manufactured and distributed by Caroline Records) Catalog #: CAROL CD 2211 This one has a white cover with the bands name in different colors, and was released on CD only (maybe on MC also but I've never seen one).

3. Goo Goo Dolls - First Release, 1994 rerelease (of remastered) by Metal Blade Records (distribution by RED Distribution) Catalog #: 14079-2 This one has a white cover with the bands name in different colors, and was released on CD only (maybe on MC also but I've never seen one).

I own 1. and 2. myself, for other info and references I used: http://www.musicfanclubs.org/googoodolls/misc/disco.htm

Can someone please rewrite this? English is not my native language.

Also where does the 12 song tracklist come from? As both the original (Mercenary) version of the cd, as the First Release (celluloid release) have the same 14 tracks. Between track 11. Scream and 12. Come On, there's also the tracks Slaughterhouse and Different Light. —Splendor 20:13, 16 November 2007 (CEST)
