Proposed merge with Google Keyword Planner

Google Keyword Planner is one of a number of functionalities available on the Google Adwords platform. However, it does not seem to fulfil the criteria required for WP:N. I propose merge and redirect of that stub into the present article. — kashmiri TALK 11:05, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

It really should be added over and merged. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.255.137.144 (talk) 21:49, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

Requested move 24 July 2018

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page to the proposed title at this time, per the discussion below. It may be worth revisiting this after the new official name becomes more well established in reliable secondary sources. Dekimasuよ! 19:32, 3 August 2018 (UTC)

AdWordsGoogle Ads – Official rebranding. [1] Wefk423 (talk) 18:06, 24 July 2018 (UTC)

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 20:36, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
Frayae, I was going to originally say: I see the website and everything related is Google Ads. ads.google.com gives you a yellow alert to the news article from June. [2] They open the news with stating the service is 18 years old. (but then you can access their existing adwords.google.com and...you can see what they did - d'oh!) – TheGridExe (talk) 22:42, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
  • Concur with Frayae. This idea is just hyper-WP:RECENTISM. See also WP:OFFICIALNAME.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  20:04, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
  • Oppose I am formally opposing this because the common and recognisable name for the service is still for the moment AdWords. I would highly recommend coming back in three to six months with an examination of how reliable sources have referred to the service after the name change. I expect Google will make sure all sources hereafter use the new name, so at that point it could be logical to move the page. But right now it is too soon, Google itself hasn't even finished the switchover yet. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 22:52, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
Comment Frayae It looks like adwords.google.com redirects to ads.google.com now. I also notice the prominent phone number on the bottom right. – TheGridExe (talk) 14:35, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
  • One of the main reason I have proposed this request is per recognizability ("The title is a name or description of the subject that someone familiar with, although not necessarily an expert in, the subject area will recognize."). Adwords has always been confused with AdSense, another platform from Google. Unless they are a frequent user of ad platforms or are familiar with Google, these two article has always been mixed up. Now that Google has announced their rebranding, I believe it will be a great opportunity to kill off the confusion. Although we might have violated WP:OFFICIALNAME and WP:COMMONNAME, the large amount of mass media reports has notified and alerted every party about the new rebranding, and that the new name, compared with the previous name, has strongly resembled the platform's usage – Google's online ads. This is why I brought this request out, decreasing confusion and differing it with AdSense. –Wefk423 (talk) 16:47, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

AdWordsGoogle Ads - Official name for a while now, official re-branding, people have adjusted to new name, Google has promoted new name by changing the name on their websites and advertisements, avoids confusion with AdSense which still is an issue. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 15:59, 8 October 2018 (UTC) --Relisting.Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 15:06, 16 October 2018 (UTC)--Relisting.Ammarpad (talk) 14:30, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

  • Comment Given the no consensus RM a few months ago, I'd like to see some evidence of usage in reliable sources from supporters, otherwise this will probably end up as no consensus again. IffyChat -- 09:11, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
  • Support. The name has been used in many Google websites and advertisements, so it would be recognizable and the difference between "AdWords" and "Ads" is unnoticeable. Its kind of stupid to keep the title while the logo in this article is changed (there's no reason to use the AdWords logo right?). Even when typing "AdWords", Google search infobox shows the name as "Google Ads" while they still provide a link to this Wikipedia page. Hddty. (talk) 18:12, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
