editThis really isn't a rival to a lot of Paypal's services. It's a checkout system/process (as is kinda implied) and nothing else. Zetetic Apparatchik 16:35, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
I think, it's target is more the pay-per-action CPA advertisement philosophy, than the current pay-per-view or pay-per-click. Google need to be a partner for that. --phatsphere 15:39, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Google EPayments - Proposed for Deletion
editI have proposed Google EPayments for deletion, because it is completely redundant, with the presence of this Checkout article. I have also taken away the merge templates from both the source and destination pages for now. --Mambo Jambo 17:07, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Advertisement Not Information
editThe comparison with Paypal makes this read more like a press release. It needs to deleted.

Why does it say that you can not make payments from person to person? That's not found anywhere in the policies or guidelines of Google Checkout (as far as I have read). Does that mean something else that I don't understand? Must be a paypal exec.
Yeah i agree, this information is incorrect you can make payments from one person to another, an invoice just needs to be sent first. This needs changing but i'm not sure how to word it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Herman238 (talk • contribs) 22:25, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Google $$$
editGoogle Check has been doing $10 off $30 and $20 off $50 for months. Let's say for each transaction Google has to pay the seller 50% of the deducted amount, Google has to pay them maybe a million dollars a day if there are 100,000 eligible transactions a day.
I know Google has money to burn but are they nuts? -- Toytoy 19:25, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think so. If they can get this service in wide use, they can get their ad words specifically to the people that are making internet purchases, probably the most valuable group of internet users to advertise to.Bookswinters
Google Checkout Support
editHi - I work for Google and saw that there is a factually incorrect statement in the article about Google Checkout not offering email support. Google Checkout supports customers through multiple channels such as the Help Center, Help Forum, and email support. Google Checkout buyers can request email support from the Google Checkout Buyer Help Center (https://support.google.com/wallet/bin/request.py?contact_type=contact_policy&policy=wallet&) and merchants can request email support from the Google Checkout Merchant Help Center (https://support.google.com/checkout/sell/bin/request.py?). Why is there no mention of the thousands of victims defrauded by scammers who used google checkout to con people out of tens of millions of dollars? I actually was scammed only $130 via google checkout only to find out that if you change the payment information that it waives the fraud protection element of the service. Peolpe have been scammed for tens of thousands of dollars of fake boats, fake ATV's, etc... [http://askville.amazon.com/craigslist-google-checkout-scam-connected-withsomeone-wanting-sell-ATV-state/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=73749890 it's all here]. Just read it and see. I guess since amazon isn't a reliable resource, then we can just protect google from enabling scammers and being outed? Sickening! 76.4.134.147 (talk) 23:43, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Google Checkout. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}

to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20090406123035/http://checkout.google.com:80/seller/npo/? to https://checkout.google.com/seller/npo
