Merger

edit

I have closed the merger discussion, and moved it to Talk:EPIC 2014/Archive 1. Consensus was not reached, though I think it's really difficult to determine since the discussion technically remained open for like two years or so,... Dr. Cash (talk) 22:15, 30 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

"The term has since gained a life of its own" is talking up the term Googlezon giving it more importance than it deserves. The Googlezon article is very short. Googlezon is what should be listed on the EPIC 2014 as cultural impact. The EPIC 2014 could do with cleanup too, the timeline is practically a list only it doesn't have bullet points in front of each item and could be rephrased into better prose style. Having said that there are plenty of other things I could improve and I can leave you to it if you are interested in working on it. -- Horkana (talk) 21:14, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Created a Cultural Impact section for the EPIC 2014, was a lot less to do than I had expected or even hoped. The Googlezon article overlaps very heavily with EPIC 2014 and I still think a merge is appropriate, but I will leave it a while longer in case there is anything I've missed but I think all that is needed is to turn this page into a redirect. -- Horkana (talk) 21:29, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Found this page while looking for the correct spelling of the term for a discussion some friends and I were having. Seems to me that a redirect would be appropriate. Lot 49atalk 16:33, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think the best thing to do is to merge & redirect, though I'm not sure if a 'cultural impact' section even in EPIC 2014 for "googlezon" is appropriate. The term doesn't appear to have really caught on much -- though it tried -- see google trends data. Compare that data to other popular neologisms, like 'octomom' or 'rickroll', and it's just hardly worth mentioning. Though, I guess if you want, keep it as a minor subsection in EPIC 2014 -- but it's true "cultural impact" is very, very little. Dr. Cash (talk) 16:48, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
