I don't believe this line is anything to do with the Welsh Highland, it is certainly not a constituent. The GJ&P was an independent line which merely connected to one of the WHR's antecedents. Also, some of the info is inconsistent between the previous author's reference and my reference (not entirely unexpected on lines this minor). It is generally accepted as an associated railway, as it was adjacent to, and had dealings with the FR/WHR.

There seems to be no mention of the original Act being repealed. The section of the route from Snowdon Mill (SH571389) as far as the Gorsedda Crossing of the Cambrian Railways (SH566393) and now marked as a public footpath, still seems to be a statutory railway and is apparently accepted by the local authority as such. This may extend as far as the A487/498 (SH559342), but at one stage much of this section was a canal towpath!

This has no connection with the Company, per se, as it was wound up many years ago. You may find there is an Abandonment order, which releases the trackbed.

The comment comes possibly from a recent article on Statutory Repeals, which included a number of railways. The repeals were being done as part of a Judicial review. This is part of an ongoing process, and has anyone checked if this has been repealed before now or not. This recent repeal mentions a number of old railways, but there are many more. --Keith 21:37, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
