At the head of the article, I put at the end of it: "At an unknown time, they made a government-in-exile. Currently, they are based in Yerevan. I also made a whole new section: "Armenian government opposition". Inside of it we have: "In February 2024, Ashot Danielyan (the president's bodyguard and driver) was detained due to suspicion of drug trafficking, and released without charge three days later. Roman Yeritsyan noted the car (presumably Shahramanyan's) had previously been impounded, searched, and returned during that time.[Cite news: Oragark - Artsakh Office In Yerevan Raided After Pashinyan’s Threats https://www.oragark.com/artsakh-office-in-yerevan-raided-after-pashinyans-threats/] [Cite news: Azbarez - Artsakh President Summoned for Questioning, Offices in Yerevan Raided - url=https://asbarez.com/artsakh-president-summoned-for-questioning-offices-in-yerevan-raided/]

The Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, opposed the apparent government-in-exile, calling it a security threat to Armenia. Later on, on 28 March 2024, Pashinyan said: "In Armenia, apart from the Government of the Republic of Armenia, no other government can exist." [Cite web: The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia - https://www.primeminister.am/en/press-release/item/2024/03/28/Cabinet-meeting/]

On the 7th of June 2024, they tried seize the car again, however, they eventually gave up after Shahramanyan argued for four hours that they needed to get court permission before doing so. On the 14th of June 2024, Pashinyan threatened to crack down on Artsakh's leadership, saying they were encouraging anti-government protests in Yerevan. He said in parliament: “They are cowardly deserters! Cowardly deserters! Cowardly deserts!”, which made opposition lawmakers absolutely furious. The next day, the Shahramanyan refuted these claims, saying “The people of Artsakh held out not for two hours but for 32 years, and every Artsakh child over the age of 7 has seen three large-scale wars.” He also apparently recognised that defending against Azerbaijan, of whom outnumbered them 12-1, was impossible without help, and that they weren't getting any, thus, why they surrendered. On the 21st of June 2024, Artsakh's office (permanent representation) in Yerevan was raided by the Armenian police. The president was taken in for questioning. The limousine that the bodyguard of the president was seized allegedly without a court warrant according to Shahramanyan’s lawyer, Roman Yeritsyan, who says the actions were "illegal and politically motivated". Armenia’s Investigative Committee denied the claims. A spokesman for the law enforcement agency says the car was impounded as part of a continuing criminal investigation into Danielyan.[Cite news: Oragark - Artsakh Office In Yerevan Raided After Pashinyan’s Threats https://www.oragark.com/artsakh-office-in-yerevan-raided-after-pashinyans-threats/] [Cite news: Azbarez - Artsakh President Summoned for Questioning, Offices in Yerevan Raided - https://asbarez.com/artsakh-president-summoned-for-questioning-offices-in-yerevan-raided/]

In May 2024 Davit Sargsyan (the mayor of Stepanakert) was accused by the Investigative Committee of fraud and forgery, registering 4 vehicles in the exodus of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians in his friends' and relatives' names, illegally. Misha Gyurjyan (the mayor of Martakert) was charged with misappropriating one of those cars in the exodus. Hayk Shamiryan (the mayor of Askeran) was charged with the same thing on the 23 of May 2024 but didn't get pre-trial detention. All of them got house arrest, [Cite news: Radio Free Europe - More Karabakh Mayors Arrested After Meeting Armenian Protest Leader - https://www.azatutyun.am/a/32965946.html] however, Davit Sargsyan actually got released, as the court of appeal voted against keeping house arrest. With a different decision, they also recognised that Sargysan's 20-day detention was illegal. Since nobody put anything here, I added the proposal. I hope it's good enough to survive. Kxeon (talk) 17:14, 26 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello, thanks for writing your proposal here. I will review it and provide my feedback soon. Just so you know, you should not expect immediate responses from editors. Separate article for the Government in exile?

edit

Should this article only pertain to the government of Artsakh as a state between 1991-2023, and a new article for the government-in-exile from 2023 to now be made as a separate article? Can I has Cheezburger? (talk) 22:21, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
